CEPD Adds to Roster of Awards & Fellowships

Continuing Education and Professional Development has added two new awards to its roster of Awards and Fellowships bestowed in Continuing Education:

The Ivan Silver Award for innovation in CEPD recognizes an innovative CEPD initiative that demonstrates an effect on health professional performance or health outcomes. The award is named for CEPD’s last Vice Dean, Dr. Ivan Silver, who is a leader and mentor to many who have pursued an academic career in Continuing Education. His vision has been to broaden the definition of CE to include improvements in professional and health care team behaviour, quality improvement and health care outcomes.

The Interprofessional Health Care Team Continuing Education Award recognizes excellence in work designed to enhance interprofessional team practice to improve health care delivery. With increasing recognition of the importance of health care teams in the provision of quality health care, CEPD professionals are developing interprofessional team CE activities designed to enhance interprofessional team practice.

All University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine, members are eligible for these awards. The deadline to nominate is November 30, 2012.  Please contact Vashty Hawkins (vashty.hawkins@utoronto.ca) if you have someone you’d like to nominate.
