Dear Sponsors,
As the Bernard & Ryan Langer Chair for the Division of General Surgery at the University of Toronto, I would like to thank you for your previous support of the Update in General Surgery. The support of our sponsors has been integral to our success over the past 57 years.
As you know, the Update in General Surgery is Canada’s largest surgical meeting. Not only does it provide a centralized forum for practising surgeons to stay current, it allows for an opportunity to meet face to face, both with colleagues and with industry sponsors. The Toronto Update in General Surgery a highlight of the professional year for the Canadian General Surgery community.
It is with great pleasure that our planning committee and I invite you to be a part of the upcoming 57th Annual Update in General Surgery meeting to be held April 5-8, 2017 at the Hilton Downtown Toronto.
In designing the 2017 Update program, we have incorporated delegates’ and sponsors’ feedback, and we are delighted to offer a wide spectrum of interactive and hands-on exoeriences that include current Hot Topics and recent technical innovations. A major theme will be Hernias, focusing on decision-making, new approaches, technical challenges and solutions, as well as management of complications. Fred Brenneman will lead a hands-on technical workshop on hernia repair. In addition, we will offer an expanded Breast surgery session, and a hands-on Introduction to Oncoplastics workshop. Hot Topics include management of abdominal compartment syndrome, the role of TEMS and TaTME, and how to get involved in global surgery.
If there is any further information you require, please don’t hesitate to contact Natalie Halsband CMP, Event Planner at 416 946-0009 or natalie.halsband@utoronto.ca or myself.
