Michael S. Lee, M.D.

Michael S. Lee is a Professor in Ophthalmology, Neurology, and Neurosurgery, holds the Mackall-Scheie Research Chair in Ophthalmology, and serves as the Ophthalmology Residency Program Director at the University of Minnesota. He completed his medical degree and residency at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Lee finished his neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard Medical School where he was awarded a Distinguished Teaching and Service Award. He has received the Best Teaching Faculty Award from the residents in the Ophthalmology Department at the University of Minnesota four times since 2009. His clinical interests include blepharospasm, double vision, optic nerve disease, thyroid eye disease, giant cell arteritis (temporal) and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. He serves as co-director of the Center for Thyroid Eye Disease at the University of Minnesota.
