Once your program is accredited, the Program Director and Scientific Planning Committee (SPC) are responsible for ensuring that all requirements help maintain the integrity and quality of CPD programming. Here’s what to keep in mind:
- Accreditation Statement: All promotional materials must include the full accreditation statement provided in your approval letter.
- Sponsorship and Support: Financial and in-kind support must comply with both the National Standard and the U of T Policy on Sponsorship Support. Sponsorship agreements must be in place for all sponsoring organizations, with specific language confirming the independence of the Scientific Planning Committee (see template for language that must be included). Each sponsorship agreement must be available for audit purposes and may be requested in the application and review process.
- Disclosure forms must be collected and reviewed for all SPC members as well as speakers, moderators, educators, facilitators, and authors. The SPC is responsible for reviewing all disclosure forms, identifying real or potential conflicts of interest, and determining an appropriate mitigation strategy if needed. Relationships, conflicts of interest, program funding arrangements, and mitigation strategies must be disclosed visually and verbally at the start of the program. Speakers, moderators, educators, facilitators, and authors must also disclose relationships using a provided slide template.
- Learning Objectives: Overall program or conference learning objectives must be derived from the needs assessment data, and shared with all speakers, educators, and authors (see speaker confirmation template).
- Attendance Letters: A letter of attendance containing specific elements must be distributed to all participants. An acceptable template containing these required elements is provided with your approval letter.
- Post Program Requirements: All accredited programs must fulfill the post program requirements.
