The main focus of the half day symposium is to acknowledge and support community hospitals that do not have a Medical Director or Designate on site and those not given guidance on how to serve this role at their facility. The program will do this by:
– advocating for dedicated time for Transfusion Medicine
– support decision-making and screening process for orders that fall outside of clinical guidelines
– provide guidance on “ how to” handle problems and help to work through common day to day scenarios

The program will be delivered virtually using a third-party online platform. ]There will be a combination of didactic lectures and interactivity modalities such as ice breaker polls, live discussion forums, and Q&A.
