This program examines recent advancements in cardiovascular risk assessment, with a focus on biomarker testing, specifically lipoprotein(a), NT-proBNP, and hs-cTnT, to improve the early detection and management of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and heart failure (HF). With strong relevance for both family physicians and specialists, the content emphasizes racial equity and the clinical importance of routine biomarker measurement, particularly for Black and marginalized populations who face disproportionate cardiovascular risk. It also addresses racial variations in biomarker levels, the impact of emerging therapeutics, and the use of objective risk stratification tools to reduce diagnostic subjectivity. By integrating the latest clinical guidelines and equity-focused data, the program supports personalized and evidence-based decision-making in outpatient care.

Designed as an intimate, interactive session, this CPD incorporates lectures, case-based Q&A sessions, and a panel discussion to reinforce knowledge translation and practical application.
