She is the immediate past Chair of the ACR Breast MRI Accreditation Committee and Chair of the Mammography Writing Sub-committee for the BIRADS Atlas 6th edition\/2025 Version Manual. She is the Chair of the ACR Audit Committee and a past Chair of the Breast Economics Committee. She is on the Executive Board of the New York State Radiological Society (NYSRS)  and a member of the Mammography Committee for NYSRS. She serves on the Board of the organization Densebreast-info.org.<\/p>\n<p>She is the immediate past Chair for the Breast Sub-Committee of the RSNA Annual Meeting Program Planning Committee and the Past Secretary of the RSNA Research and Education Foundation Board on which she served for 6 years as a Board member. Dr Destounis also serves as Chair of the Public Information Committee for RSNA.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Destounis is a reviewer for several peer-review journals and is the Deputy Editor for the journal of Academic Radiology and the Breast Editor for the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine. She sits on many volunteer boards related to research and education and new technology within the field of Radiology. Dr. Destounis has published many peer-review publications on a variety of breast imaging topics.
