Although this phenomenon is not new, the COVID-19 pandemic has illustrated the effects of massive amounts of media from multiple online sources that can act as a stressor to affect people's mental health such as the development of anxiety and even trauma disorder symptoms. Issues of trust, dealing with ambiguity, and health concerns all create the perfect storm. The purpose of this webinar is to explore how information in certain forms and contexts can be harmful versus helpful; how it will impact patients as well as healthcare workers; and strategies to deal with the reality of the situation.
