AIEC virtual colonography didactic and hands on training course
Feb. 9, 2026 - Jan. 31, 2027This didactic and hands on training program aims to educate both novice and minimally experienced radiologists in the field of virtual colonoscopy. There is a detailed insight into the pathophysiology of colon cancer, the rationale for screening and the role that imaging plays in the paradigm for colon cancer. In addition to didactic content attendees are given one on one instruction in navigating the colon on a virtual platform. This is interwoven through all 3 days of the workshop.

IDEAS Foundations of Quality Improvement 2026
February 11 - April 28, 2026The IDEAS Foundations of Quality Improvement program provides participants with the knowledge and tools to effectively participate in and contribute to quality improvement projects within or across health care organizations. IDEAS is a comprehensive, evidence based quality improvement training program for Ontario’s health professionals.
The IDEAS Foundations of Quality Improvement program and resources were funded by the provincial government through a collaboration between Health Quality Ontario (HQO), the University of Toronto Institute for Health Policy Management and Evaluation (IHPME), the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC), and the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences(ICES).
Using an evidence based curriculum and instructional design, the IDEAS Foundations of Quality Improvement Program is comprised of a 3.0 hour asynchronous online component and two half-day live webinars.

Planning Inclusive Educational Events Workshop for Staff
February 18, 2026The Planning Inclusive Educational Events workshop is an opportunity to promote Temerty Faculty of Medicine’s Inclusive Educational Events Planning Guide (https://temertymedicine.utoronto.ca/inclusive-educational-events-planning-guide) and socialize inclusion considerations with administrative staff working in academic, clinical and research environments. By facilitating a live, interactive program with practical examples on using key concepts from the guide, the Office of Inclusion and Diversity and its collaborators aim to promote skills development among participants by enhancing the way they incorporate access, inclusion and belonging in educational event settings in order to enhance event relevance, attendance, participation and feedback.
The program design is a 3-hour in-person live workshop which will provide facilitated information on inclusive event planning concepts including avoiding tokenism, selecting diverse speakers, cultivating social safety, and embedding accessibility and disability inclusion. Participants will partake in activities to enhance and apply their knowledge of these concepts including knowledge/perspective sharing, small group exercises, scenario /vignette unpacking, and land acknowledgement development.

A Day in the Life of a Transfusion Medicine Medical Director
February 19, 2026The main focus of the half day symposium is to acknowledge and support community hospitals that do not have a Medical Director or Designate on site and those not given guidance on how to serve this role at their facility. The program will do this by:
- advocating for dedicated time for Transfusion Medicine
- support decision-making and screening process for orders that fall outside of clinical guidelines
- provide guidance on “ how to” handle problems and help to work through common day to day scenariosThe program will be delivered virtually using a third-party online platform. ]There will be a combination of didactic lectures and interactivity modalities such as ice breaker polls, live discussion forums, and Q&A.

Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Immune Effector Cell Symposium 2026
February 20, 2026Learn about rapidly evolving updates on immune effector cell (IEC) therapy and its applications in clinical practice.
Understand the efficacy of this new treatment modality and its uses for aggressive lymphoma, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, multiple myeloma, and mantle cell lymphoma. In addition, determining which patients would benefit from IEC therapy and conducting long-term follow-up after IEC therapy will also be covered.
By sharing innovations taking place around IEC therapy at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and beyond, we hope to expand awareness about this new treatment modality so that patients can receive care earlier.

20th Annual CPEG Scientific Meeting
February 26-28, 2026This annual meeting is the opportunity for all Canadian pediatric endocrinologists to meet around a highly scientific program that covers novel aspects of pediatric endocrinology and diabetes. Culinary Medicine 2026: The Mediterranean Approach to Chronic Disease Prevention
February 26, 2026Culinary Medicine: The Mediterranean Approach to Chronic Disease Prevention is an interactive, hands-on learning experience designed to teach physicians the evidence behind therapeutic diets for the prevention and management of chronic disease, such as cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes, along with effective strategies to facilitate a patient's integration of therapeutic dietary patterns into their lifestyle. This includes knowledge translation strategies, food selection and preparation.
This workshop will take place in the culinary department at George Brown College and will be a collaborative learning experience lead by physician scientists, chefs, and registered dietitians. Participants will enjoy lectures, culinary demos, a grocery shopping workshop, and ample opportunity for open questions and discussions. Throughout the event, participants will touch, taste, and see recipes and food products to recommend to their patients

SickKids Paediatric Infectious Diseases Update 2026 (SickKids Paediatric ID Update 2026)
March 7, 2026New and emerging infectious diseases continue to play a critical role in pediatric practice. Prevention, diagnosis, and management of these conditions are integral to optimizing child health outcomes. This half-day virtual conference will highlight current and leading-edge knowledge and practices in pediatric infectious diseases, with content relevant to health care professionals in pediatrics, infectious diseases, and family medicine.
The program will feature one plenary presentation and five concise “Quick Hit” sessions, each designed to deliver focused, practical updates. Approximately one-third of each session will be reserved for audience questions and discussion. Educational methods will include case-based learning, interactive multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and opportunities for real-time engagement with expert faculty to reinforce learning and promote clinical application.

Chronic Pain Care for Indigenous Patients – Asynchronous Online Learning Module
Mar. 15, 2026 - Mar. 14, 2027"Chronic Pain Care for Indigenous Patients" is an online asynchronous learning course intended to educate physicians on the provision of culturally-safer, trauma-informed chronic pain care for Indigenous Peoples in Canada. The course is organized into four section that cover the following content:
1) an overview of the historical and ongoing colonial policies and practices in Canada that impact the health of Indigenous Peoples and their experiences when accessing the healthcare system;
2) an introduction to chronic pain and approaches to pain care based on Western medical and Indigenous perspectives, including a patient-centred examination of the barriers that Indigenous patients face in accessing chronic pain care;
3) recommendations for providing high quality culturally-safer care to Indigenous individuals with chronic pain;
4) guidance for accessing supports when caring for Indigenous patients and resources for further learning.The course incorporates interactive self-guided components throughout the content slides and includes opportunities to reinforce learning in the form of embedded case examples, reflection questions, and quizzes. Learners also have an opportunity to ask the course facilitator questions that are moderated and displayed, along with facilitator responses, on the learning platform.

5th Canadian Musculoskeletal Conference (CMC) 2026 – Hybrid Meeting
March 27, 2026The 2026 Canadian Musculoskeletal Conference is a one day event focusing on bone and muscle health. This hybrid event will be led by national experts in osteoporosis and musculoskeletal health. This dynamic conference will offer an advanced medical education program and is intended for general physicians and specialists as well as allied health professionals.
The content will focus on muscle and bone health, with a focus on sarcopenia and osteoporosis. Presentations will discuss the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, in various populations.
There will also be a focus on rare bone diseases, including fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva, hypophosphatasia, X-linked hypophosphatemic rickets, and Paget’s disease.The conference content will be delivered via lecture presentations. Each presentation will be followed by an interactive question and answer period with the content expert. There is also an opportunity for interaction, through a panel discussion involving multiple lecturers and the audience.
In the afternoon, the conference will be divided into two concurrent streams. One stream will be tailored to primary care providers, with discussion of topics related to fracture prevention, fracture risk assessment, and osteoporosis treatment. The other stream will be catered to specialists, with discussion of topics related to secondary osteoporosis in unique populations, and rare bone diseases. -

March 28-29, 2026This year’s symposium will bring together leading voices in anesthesiology to explore how quality improvement strategies can shape safer, more effective preoperative care. Planetary Health & Sustainable Care ECHO
Apr. 7, 2026 - Apr. 6, 2027The Planetary Health & Sustainable Care ECHO offers a collaborative space for people in the Canadian healthcare sector to discuss, troubleshoot, and celebrate efforts to provide climate resilient and responsible care across settings and specialties.
The Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) model is an “all teach, all learn” training framework based on mentoring and peer support. The overarching objective is to share support, guidance, and feedback in service of the dissemination and implementation of good practices. As our collective understanding of the issues and opportunities related to climate change and health deepens, the ECHO format offer members of the healthcare community the support they need to navigate the nuances of sustainability work.
The Planetary Health & Sustainable Care ECHO (program) runs in cycles (~6-10 weeks) that involve weekly 1-hour virtual sessions. Each cycle (~2-4 cycles per year) focuses on a different theme and sub-topics, while each session features a topic of interest related to the cycle theme grounded by experts in the field and brought to life by case studies shared by participants. At this time, we do not repeat themes or topics. The ECHO engages a national cohort, serving a pan-Canadian audience: anyone in the Canadian healthcare community can join and is invited to all future cycles.

Creative and Reflective Writing Workshop for Health Practitioners
April 30 - June 4, 2026This four-session series is designed for health practitioners seeking to improve their creative and reflective writing skills. Each session will include discussion of a particular literary genre — such as memoir, fiction, and poetry — and feature group discussion of published work. Conversation around themes and questions in creative and reflective writing in the health humanities will also be a focus.
A workshop component will offer participants space to write, read, and try out new methods and approaches for prose and poetry, share feedback, and hone writing work with peers in a safe and encouraging environment.
As well as enhancing literacy skills, this series will provide an opportunity for health practitioners to explore their experiences through writing, and will enhance their understanding of the narrative potential of patient encounters. In a creative and collegial atmosphere, participants are invited to become part of a supportive community in narrative-based medicine.

Education Scholars Program (ESP) 2025-2027 (Year 2 of 2)
Oct. 5, 2026 - Jun. 1, 2027The overall goal of the Education Scholars Program (ESP) is to enhance participants’ capacity as education scholars. Working collaboratively to solve common challenges encountered in health professions education, participants will tackle the most pressing issues in: curriculum and program development, program evaluation, and education leadership and system change. This will be accomplished through collaborative and highly applied projects, small and large group exercises, guided observations and other practically-oriented tasks that promote application of theoretical concepts to participants’ own education contexts. Additionally, individual coaching sessions scheduled throughout the program will support participants in their growth as education scholars and leaders. The program is deliberately designed to build connection and community within and beyond the program.
The ESP consists of 5 units. Each unit contains the following:
- five 3-day module (9:00 am – 4:00 pm)
- two or three 3-hour sessions (1:00-4:00 pm) approximately one month apart
