This intensive 5-day course is designed to provide a safe, focussed and in depth
comprehensive learning experience in Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT). The curriculum
format assumes no prior knowledge and will accommodate trainees with varying levels of
experience. Trainees will progress through the ample caseload at a comfortable pace aimed
at covering 50 cases of coronary calcium and 100 cases of cardiac CT covering a wide range
of pathology.
A unique educational environment has been created to provide state of the art facilities
for an optimal learning experience. This course is run by passionate and experienced cardiac
imagers with an extensive background in teaching cardiac imaging. The
purpose-built facility is set within a busy Academic Medical Imaging Department,
adjacent to two busy cardiac CT units (320 Multidetector CT), facilitating the viewing of
live cases during the course.
Hands-on training and comprehensive work station based case review using a systematic
method of 150
cases to include:
– Cardiac Anatomy
– Calcium score
– Post processing techniques
– CT Coronary angiography
-Coronary graft assessment
– Functional Assessment
– Non coronary cardiac findings
– CT Physics
– Radiation Dose
– Optimization of image quality
– Live Cardiac CT demonstration using Canon 320 CT
