{"id":236,"date":"2021-04-14T10:03:52","date_gmt":"2021-04-14T10:03:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cpd.utoronto.ca\/ideas\/?page_id=236"},"modified":"2025-06-26T13:19:22","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T13:19:22","slug":"program-overview","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cpd.utoronto.ca\/ideas\/program-overview\/","title":{"rendered":"Program Overview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are 3 parts to the IDEAS Foundations of Quality Improvement program.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"list-unstyled list-program-overview\">\n<li>\n<p><strong>Welcome &amp; Orientation<\/strong><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Four Asynchronous eLearning Modules<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol class=\"list-unstyled list-program-overview-modules\">\n<li>Learners will encounter several healthcare scenarios that simulate how improvement effects change in the system. They will be asked to participate in different learning activities.<\/li>\n<li>Learners will explore the roles in a QI Team, tools used to identify opportunities for QI (Fishbone Diagram, 5 Whys, Process Map), how to identify an effective problem\/opportunity statement and the model for improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Learners will re-visit the model for improvement and be introduced to effective aim statements, measures for improvement, and the difference between change concepts and change ideas.<\/li>\n<li>Learners will use the \u201cPDSA\u201d cycle to gather data and determine whether the change idea succeeded. The steps of the cycle are: plan, do , study and act.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Synchronous Digital Learning Workshop (Two Three-Hour Workshops)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Workshops will be held virtually using Zoom technology. Throughout the 2 workshops, participants will discuss the case for improvement, measurement in quality improvement, change concepts, data collection, sustaining change and more.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<p>\t<!--\n\n<li>\n\t\t\n\n<p><strong>Post-Program Surveys:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\t\t\n\n<p>To receive CFPC or Royal College credits learners are required to complete a 6-week and 12-week survey.
