In the post-Truth and Reconciliation report era, ensuring that health care providers are knowledgeable and culturally safe for Indigenous communities across Canada has never been more necessary.
The 4th biennial Indigenous Health Conference: Building Our Future attempts to increase knowledge and awareness of culturally safe practices by providing health care providers with an opportunity to learn about the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada, the burden of disease, systemic barriers to health, determinants of health and Indigenous ways of knowing among other topics.
Many of the over 700 health care providers (physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, mental health specialists, allied health care workers) that attend this biennial conference are not only interested in becoming more culturally safe practitioners, they are also looking for employment opportunities that will allow them to work with Indigenous populations.
In order to help recruiters and organizations in Northern and under-serviced areas connect with these prospective candidates, the Indigenous Health Conference is offering several sponsorship opportunities. Depending on the level chosen, conference sponsors can host presentations, interview candidates on-site and setup a booth to share information about their organization.
A limited number of these booths are available. If your organization is interested in sponsoring the conference, please contac Anna Banerji, Conference Co-Chair at email@example.com.
