Completed fellowship at Princess Margaret Cancer Center. Simultaneously, she completed a Masters in Health Science (MHSc) majoring in Medical Genomics at the University of Toronto. She is previously affiliated with Eli Lilly where she worked as a clinical research physician and assisted in oncology clinical research. Her roots, however, lie in Israel where she completed her medical training in clinical oncology. Luisa has experience in global health leadership and strives to contribute to the betterment of global cancer treatments. Her career focus is on the development of effective cancer treatments through the identification of key events in tumour genomic evolution. She also has great interests in the recognition of essential tumour microenvironment interactions and the advancement of treatment strategies through personalized medicine to improve patient outcomes. During her medical genomics practicum, she restructured the molecular tumor board for gynecologic malignancies, establishing a clear referral flow that allow a tailored use of available NGS tools, and will make more efficient the identification of targetable variants, allowing more patients have benefit from tumor genomic profiling.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"speaker\">\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/mygoals\/files\/2024\/11\/Lina-Salman.jpg\" alt=\"Lina Salman\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lina Salman<\/strong> <small>MD MSc<\/small><br \/>\n\t\t<small>Assistant Professor, Schulich School of Medicine &#038; Dentistry<br \/>\n\t\tUniversity of Western Ontario<br \/>\n\t\tGynecologic Oncologist<br \/>\n\t\tLondon Health Sciences Centre<\/small><br \/>\n        <button class=\"btn btn-biography\">Biography<\/button><\/p>\n<div class=\"biography\">\n<p>Dr. Lina Salman, MD MSc, is a Gynecologic Oncologist at London health Sciences Centre. She is an assistant professor at Schulich School of Medicine &#038; Dentistry, Western University, London, Ontario.<\/p>\n<p>Her primary research focus is ovarian cancer, with an emphasis on enhancing patients\u2019 outcomes and reducing treatment-related toxicity.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"speaker\">\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/mygoals\/files\/2024\/11\/Carlos-Parra-Herran.jpg\" alt=\"Carlos Parra-Herran\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Carlos Parra-Herran<\/strong> <small>MD<\/small><br \/>\n\t\t<small>Associate Professor of Pathology<br \/>\n\t\tHarvard Medical School<br \/>\n\t\tPathologist, Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital<\/small><br \/>\n        <button class=\"btn btn-biography\">Biography<\/button><\/p>\n<div class=\"biography\">\n<p>Carlos Parra-Herran is an academic pathologist at Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital in Boston, US. He graduated from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogota, Colombia) and completed pathology training at Jackson Memorial Hospital (Miami, US), Brigham and Women&#8217;s Hospital and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (Toronto, Canada). His research focuses on the pathology of gynecologic tract neoplasia, particularly epithelial lesions of the lower genital tract, uterine mesenchymal tumors, and non-serous ovarian epithelial neoplasia. <\/p>\n<p>He has authored over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles (original research and reviews) and edited three reference textbooks in Gynecologic Pathology (Foundations in Diagnostic Pathology series &#8211; Elsevier 2020, Surgical Pathology Clinics Vol 15:2 &#8211; Elsevier 2022, and Atlas of Tumor Pathology Series 5: Tumors of the Cervix, Vagina and Vulva &#8211; ARP 2023). Dr. Parra-Herran currently serves as the women\u2019s and perinatal pathology fellowship program at Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital. He is also a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) education committee and chairs the USCAP abstract review board.
