Among his many firsts, he was the first in Canada and Qu\u00e9bec to use many new BPH technologies including Greenlight XPS, Rezum, iTind, Optilume and Aquablation. Furthermore, Dr. Zorn is actively involved in investigational trial devices including Zenflow, ProVee and Urocross.<\/p>\n<p>He has also been the first in Canada to introduce cutting-edge technologies including the Clarius and ButterflyIQ point-of care ultrasound (POCUS), as well as disposable AMBU4 cystoscopes for faster patient care and safety.<\/p>\n<p>He is among the first physicians globally to be named as a Center of Excellence for Rezum and Greenlight vaporization and VIT (vapor incision technique). He received his Bachelor in Science from the University of New Brunswick, his Doctor of Medicine from Dalhousie University and completed his urology residency training at the University of Alberta. In 2003, he completed fellowship training at the Devine Centre for Genitourinary Reconstruction in Norfolk, Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Rourke provides state-of-the-art care to patients requiring reconstruction of the genitourinary tract, treatment of complications after prostate cancer therapy, and complex surgery for male sexual dysfunction. Dr. Rourke has over 120 peer reviewed publications and has been invited to lecture nationally and internationally on topics related to reconstructive urology. Dr. Rourke also has expertise in surgical education both undergraduate and post-graduate and has received over 25 teaching awards. He has been a urology residency program director, clerkship coordinator, fellowship director and a faculty of medicine course coordinator at the University of Alberta. Completion of his postgraduate training saw him off to University of Alberta where he completed a Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons Fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Keith F. Rourke. He subsequently returned to Queen\u2019s University, completing a fellowship in Urologic Chronic Pelvic Pain under the supervision of Dr. J. Curtis Nickel. Throughout his fellowship training, he completed an MPH in Epidemiology with the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. He earned his doctorate degree in 2010 from Uppsala University in Uppsala, Sweden with a study focus on computer intensive methods for statistical model choice and validation. Between his graduation and his appointment at Karolinska Institute in 2015, he served in the Section for Global Safety Assessment at AstraZeneca and the Department of Surgery, University of California San Francisco. <\/p>\n<p>His research in combining machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and statistical risk-prediction models with clinical practice  has contributed greatly to the world of prostate and breast cancer care. In collaboration with international teams, he has worked on the innovative Stockholm3, Stockholm3-MRI, ProBio, and PANDA Challenge trials, among others. After completing Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology training, he was awarded the TD Insurance Meloche Monnex &amp; Alberta Medical Association Scholarship. Thereafter, he pursued a Fellowship in Genitourinary Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, mentored by Dr. Toni Choueiri. He has also completed the Program in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He is a surgeon scientist at Vancouver General Hospital with specialized expertise in robotics and image guided diagnostics and therapeutics for prostate cancer. His clinical research program is focused on improving the diagnosis and treatment of localized prostate cancer. Tobias Nordstr\u00f6m is a clinically active urologist, focusing on the detection and treatment of malignancies in the prostate and kidney, as well as treating general urological conditions. He started practicing urology in 2007 and has achieved degrees in General Surgery and Urology at Danderyd's Hospital. He was awarded Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Tobias Nordstr\u00f6m defended his thesis \"Predicting Prostate Cancer- on the use of biomarkers in Prostate Cancer Diagnostics [1]\" in January 2015 after which he undertook international postdoctoral studies at University of California, San Francisco.<\/p>\n<p>He now combines clinical surgical practice at Danderyds Hospital with independent research at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet.
