Dr. Danya Fast

Dr. Danya Fast’s research in Greater Vancouver has broadly focused on understanding the relationship between health and place among young people who use drugs in the margins of the city. Her current research, funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, SickKids Foundation and Vancouver Foundation, is focused on tracing the substance use and care trajectories of young people in Greater Vancouver, as they navigate various systems of supervision and multiple public health emergencies. This research is undertaken in partnership with Directions Youth Services and the At-Risk Youth Study (ARYS) Youth Advisory Committee. She is also a Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Scholar (2018–2023).
