Dr. Shahrokhi is an Attending Surgeon at the Ross Tilley Burn Centre (RTBC) at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and Fellow of American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Shahrokhi’s clinical practice interest encompasses total burn care and complex wound care. In addition to the clinical aspects of the practice, Dr. Shahrokhi is the Medical Lead for the complex wound service, coordinator of medical education, and director of the burn fellowship at RTBC. He serves as the strategic planning officer on the executive board of the Canadian Burn Association. In addition, he has been a longstanding member of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Resident Program committee and department of surgery mentorship committee. He has contributed to multiple book chapters, and journal articles in the field of burns and is also an editor of the book “Burn Care and Treatment – A Practical Guide”.

Lindsay completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 2007 and later completed her Master of Nursing thesis at the University of Calgary in 2013. She has been actively involved in the Burns community since graduation. Lindsay was the President of the Canadian Association of Burn Nurses (2013-2015).

Lindsay holds committee appointments on the Education Committee and Nursing Certification Committee with the American Burn Association. Currently employed as the Clinical Nurse Educator on the Calgary Firefighter’s Burn Treatment Centre at the Foothills Medical Centre, Lindsay’s role includes teaching staff, patients, and their families.

Lindsay enjoys being involved in various research and quality improvement initiatives, and has Co-Chaired the FMC Burn Quality Committee since it was established in 2014. Lindsay is also highly involved in the Burn Survivor community and is a SOAR Coordinator for the Phoenix Society’s Burn Peer Support Program in Calgary.
