Join us for a jam-packed day of multidisciplinary learning and collaboration. Learn about new technologies and targeted therapies changing the future of care in gynecologic oncology.
Presentations this year will revolve around “Breaking Boundaries: Innovation in Gynecologic Oncology & Insights into Rare Gynecologic Tumours” Hear updates spanning new treatment strategies and systemic therapy advances in cervical cancer, platinum-resistant ovarian cancer, and endometrial cancer.
The Multidisciplinary Gynecologic Oncology Annual Lecture Series (MyGOALS) was developed in response to the rapidly evolving landscape in gynecologic oncology. Renowned Canadian and international experts will share insights on recent advances in surgical management, systemic therapy, radiation therapy, and survivorship care.
Program Goals
- Expand participants’ knowledge and drive innovation in managing rare gynecologic tumors.
- Introduce and examine emerging technologies, including AI applications, novel radiation and surgical techniques in gynecologic oncology.
- Facilitate critical discussions on controversies in treatment approaches and evolving standards of care.
- Strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration among oncologists, surgeons, radiation specialists, and pathologists.
- Encourage evidence-based practice changes by highlighting cutting-edge research and impactful studies.
Learning Objectives & Topics
By the end of the conference, participants will be able to:
Rare Tumors:
- Summarize the current research initiatives and collaborative efforts within rare tumour consortia.
- Describe the clinical features, diagnostic challenges, and management strategies for granulosa cell tumours, low-grade serous carcinoma, and gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN).
Innovations in Gynecologic Oncology:
- Analyze the role of artificial intelligence in pathology and multidisciplinary cancer care (MCC) for gynecologic malignancies.
- Discuss recent innovations in radiation oncology delivery and surgical techniques with their impact on patient outcomes.
Controversies in Care:
- Critically evaluate opposing viewpoints on the management of fully resected MMRd endometrial cancer and recent evolution in MMRp treatment.
- Debate the use of induction chemotherapy versus immunotherapy in cervical cancer treatment strategies.
- Determine criteria for selecting ovarian cancer patients who may benefit from HIPEC in the first-line treatment setting.
Research and Evidence-Based Practice:
- Assess the clinical implications of the most impactful gynecologic oncology research published in the past year.
- Apply insights from case-based multidisciplinary discussions (MCC) to optimize individualized patient management.
