Attendees will learn about the latest clinical developments to better diagnose and treat common and rare childhood skin conditions in your community-based practice at this synthesized, one-day conference.

Covering the breadth of paediatric dermatology, expert speakers will share new guidelines and therapies for skin disorders of childhood and adolescence. Topics will include common skin conditions such as acne and atopic dermatitis; under-serviced populations in dermatology; novel therapeutics and more.

Attendees will learn how to assess and treat skin conditions encountered in clinic and determine when to refer patients for follow-up treatment.

Dr. Irene Lara-Corrales is a Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto and a Staff Physician in Paediatric Dermatology at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Canada.

She completed her medical training and paediatric residency at the University of Costa Rica, in San Jose, Costa Rica and her paediatric dermatology training at SickKids. She obtained a master of science degree from the University of Toronto.

She is involved in numerous clinical and research endeavours, as well as in teaching commitments. He co-directs the Genodermatoses, Epidermolysis Bullosa, Vascular Tumors and Café-au-Lait Screening clinics at SickKids. She is also the co-chair of the hospital’s Wound Care Committee. Her research interests include genodermatoses, inflammatory diseases, vascular anomalies and dermatologic problems in hematology/oncology patients.

Dr. Rebecca Levy is a full-time Staff Physician at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in the Division of Dermatology. She also runs a weekly Paediatric Dermatology clinic at Scarborough Health Network, Centenary site.

Dr. Levy received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Toronto and went on to complete her Paediatric Residency at the University of Toronto. She then completed a Clinical Fellowship in Paediatric Dermatology at SickKids, before joining on as a staff physician.

She is actively involved in medical education at all levels and participates in clinical research in a variety of common and rare dermatology conditions. Clinical interests include laser therapy of vascular birthmarks, pediatric hidradenitis suppurativa, late cutaneous effects of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and skin toxicities related to targeted cancer therapies.
