Celebrating 40 Years of the University of Toronto Psoriatic Disease Research Program

Welcome

Precision medicine represents a novel approach encompassing established clinical-pathological indices with state-of-the art molecular profiling to create diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic strategies precisely tailored to each patient’s requirements.

This one-day symposium will feature world-leading experts in genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics and the microbiome in psoriatic disease (psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis). Experts in bioinformatics, clinical outcomes and therapeutics will explore the integration of this extensive information toward the implementation of precision medicine into clinical practice.

This symposium is being held in celebration of the 40th year of the University of Toronto Psoriatic Disease Program.

Program Goals

The target audience for this program is academic and community rheumatologists and dermatologists and residents/fellows in these fields. The goals include:

  • Gain a broad understanding of the current genetic and biomolecular aspects of psoriatic disease
  • Explore cutting edge technologies used in the field
  • Acquire an understanding of computational biology and artificial intelligence in precision medicine
  • Review current therapies in the management of psoriatic disease and associated comorbidities
  • Gain an understanding of the impact of precision medicine in clinical practice
