Submitting Abstracts
Eligibility
Submission should describe original research that has not been presented at a previous Annual Assembly forum.
At least one member of the Division of General Surgery (resident or staff) should be listed as a contributing author on each submission. Presenting authors from outside of Division of General Surgery are welcome.
The presenting author must be available to present their work on May 21st, 2015.
Submissions should include:
- A 200 word structured scientific abstract: The abstract should be formatted to include the headings: “Introduction/Objectives”, “Methods”, “Results”, and “Conclusions”. Heading titles are not includes in the total word count.
- A 75 word Lay Summary: A summary of the research work should be provided in simple, non-technical language that can be understood by individuals not familiar with the field of research.

Evaluation of Submissions
All abstracts submitted before the deadline will be considered by a committee based on scientific and clinical merit.
Abstract scores will be tabulated and assigned to Oral Presentation or Poster Presentation.
