Janet C. Rucker

Janet C. Rucker holds the Bernard and Charlotte Marden Associate Professorship in the Department of Neurology at New York University Langone Medical Center, where she is also the Division Director and Fellowship Director of Neuro-Ophthalmology. Education is a major focus of Dr. Rucker’s academic efforts. In addition to receiving neurology residency teaching awards, she has been invited to speak at numerous grand rounds, and has been a frequent invited presenter for national educational courses at the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She has served as course director at the American Academy of Neurology and the International Movement Disorders Society. Dr. Rucker is president of the Neuro-Ophthalmology and Neuro-Otology section of the AAN. She has led and participated in numerous committees within the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (NANOS) and served on the editorial board of three major journals, including the Journal of Neuro-Ophthalmology. Dr. Rucker has 35 peer-reviewed publications, 18 review articles, and 20 book chapters and has served as editor of a scientific volume within the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences and for an educational volume in the AAN Continuum: Neuro-Ophthalmology. Dr. Rucker’s research abstracts, and those of her trainees, have been presented on a regular basis at the annual national scientific meetings. Dr. Rucker has given more than 50 invited talks outside of the New York region over the past five years.
