The Annual Toronto Thoracic Refresher is a well-established conference offered by the Department of Surgery; 2019 marks the 45th year of the meeting. this year’s conference is set to take place from June 7-8, 2019 at MaRs Discovery District. The topics in general thoracic surgery will be explored, with a focus on:
- Novel systemic therapies for lung cancer
- Immunotherapy in stage III lung cancer
- Multi-disciplinary discussion of challenging cases
- Use of novel technologies to improve patient care
- Education in thoracic surgery
- Lectures and videos on minimally invasive lung and esophageal surgery
The perfect complement to the Annual Toronto Thoracic Refresher is the 3rd Toronto Update on Lung Transplantations and Artificial Lung Support. This update will be held on June 6, 2019, and includes topics ranging from extra-corporeal life support systems (ECLS) to state of the art technology in lung preservation and ex vive perfusion (EVLP). Those who attend the Thoracic Refresher will also receive $100 off the Toronto Update on Lung Transplantation and Artificial Lung Support.
