Managing Alcohol Use Problems Online Course

This course designed for physicians and other health care providers consists of five self-directed online modules and aims sto enhance the knowledge and skills to more effectively identify, assess and treat clients with alcohol use problems.

This five-module, self-directed online course explores the impact of alcohol use problems and how to is engage, treat and support clients with alcohol use problems through various instructional activities, such as case scenarios, interactive review questions, individual activities and end-of-module quizzes.

The use of common pharmacotherapies and psychosocial treatments for alcohol use disorder are also explored.

Fundamentals of Addiction online course

This course is intended for professionals working with individual who may be facing mental health and addiction issues. It aims to help further their understanding of addictive behaviour for both substance use issues and problem gambling and to develop approaches to support their clients/patients in clinical settings. The topics covered include: social determinants of health; harm reduction; screening and assessment; treatment and legal issues and ethical considerations. We present the bio-psycho-social-plus (BPS+) model of addiction, which provides a multidimensional way of understanding this complex field.
