TISS Conference 2024 (Moderator/Panelist)

Thank you for agreeing to be a moderator/panelist at the Tanenbaum Institute for Science in Sport Conference at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport on September 14–15, 2024.

This web page will guide you through a series of tasks for your session. Please complete all the tasks by the deadlines listed below.

1 RSVP for the Speaker & VIP Dinner

TISS Conference presenters are invited to an intimate speaker & VIP dinner dinner at the Kimpton Hotel (a 5-min walk from the Goldring Centre) on Saturday, September 14 at 7:00pm. We ask that you RSVP for the dinner, make your menu selection, and share any dietary restrictions.

2 Prepare for your Session

AV Equipment & Support

Your session will be set-up with the following A/V Equipment:

  • Projector Screens with a Comfort Monitor
  • Presentation Clicker with Laser Pointer
  • Wireless Headset Microphone (image)
  • Wireless Podium Microphone
  • Wireless Audience Microphone
  • Moderator iPad (for Q&A)

Audiovisual specialists will be available to assist at the conference. If you have any questions or concerns regarding technical support or need something that is not listed (i.e. internet or laptop audio), please let us know as soon as possible.

3 Submit Group Slides (if applicable)

Interactivity (TISS Conference)

It is recommended that your presentation include interactive elements. This is typically achieved through audience response (polling) and Q&A.

For this conference, we are using Slido as our polling software. Please have a slide with your polling question(s) incorporated into your Power Point presentation. The conference organizers will build the polling question into the Slido platform for your presentation.

Content for PowerPoint presentations, websites and printed materials should not contain copyright-protected work. However, if the materials are deemed essential, the application of Fair Dealing may apply.

Patient Confidentiality

All presentations must comply with patient confidentiality agreements. Patient names should not be used, and images must not contain identifiable features (e.g., institutional location of scan, date of scan, patient date of birth, MRN, photography that shows facial or other identifiable features etc.).

After reviewing the above requirements, please submit your presentation by email to CPD Conference Services. Please ensure the title of your presentation file is named: TISS-firstname-lastname so we are able to easily track it.

Notes

  1. If your presentation is too large to submit by email, please use WeTransfer
  2. If you have polling questions, please write the question number and slide number in the body of the email so we can ensure they are not missed
  3. If you have videos, please let us know so that can test them during our AV set-up
If there are any changes to your presentation please place your updated presentation on an unencrypted USB device and bring it with you to the conference. You must arrive at least 1 hour prior to your session. When you arrive, please check in at the registration desk so we are able to give your presentation to the A/V team.

4 Travel Expense Reimbursement

For those with ground or economy air transportation expenses. Please use the checklist to help complete the expense form for your travel and send them back to us after the conference via email. *Note: it is extremely important that you keep original receipts for your expenses. We will not be able to reimburse you if you do not have proper documentation.
