An Introduction to Intraoperative EEG

Speaker: Andrew Peeling MD FRCPC

Andrew Peeling MD FRCPC completed his anesthesia residency program at the University of Saskatchewan in 2021. He subsequently attended the University of Toronto for clinical training in Neuroanesthesia. He is currently working as a Staff Anesthesiologist in Saskatoon and is an Assistant professor with the University of Saskatchewan. His academic interests include intraoperative neuromonitoring and undergraduate medical education.

Objectives:

• Describe the different technologies available for intraoperative neuromonitoring
• Discuss EEG and Spectral Array patterns of commonly used Anesthesia
• Discuss clinical scenarios where neuromonitoring can aid in making clinical decision
