The Brain Medicine Neuroanatomy Course is an introduction to brain anatomy through a complement of didactic sessions and a live brain dissection. Course content is focused on what is clinically relevant to individuals practicing in brain-based disciplines to facilitate enhanced understanding of patients with complex brain disorders. Anatomy is taught through the lens of brain medicine, with a specific focus on how different functional units of anatomy contribute to presentations of the six key domains of affect, behaviour, cognition, movement, perception, and arousal. Anatomy is reviewed at multiple levels: theoretical, gross anatomy, pathology, and neuroimaging. The basics of neuroimaging are taught to empower clinicians to read and interpret brain scans such that clinico-radiographic correlations can be made with more independence.
