Kevin Wing

Kevin Wing BSc, MD, FRCSC
Clinical Professor
Department of Orthopaedics
St. Paul’s Hospital University of British Columbia

I am full time academic adult foot and ankle surgeon. As a founding member of the Canadian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society research team evaluating the outcomes from the surgical treatment of endstage anklke arthritis, I have had a longstanding interest in how we evaluate patients health states both before and after surgery.

More recently I have had the pleasure of working closely with Dr Jason Sutherland at the UBC school of public health and have been a successful CIHR funded co-investigator with him (CIHR 2014).We have numerous publication that carefully explore how patient reported outcomes can help us better understand the patient experience around surgery.

Our collaborative research into how patient reported health states change while undergoing surgery for degenerative foot and ankle conditions has added high quality peer reviewed evidence to the body of literature that demonstrates the importance of reconstructive surgery for foot and ankle conditions in our society.
