Your Scientific Planning Committee (SPC) plays a vital role in shaping a meaningful CPD program and is a key part of program development (see SPC Guide). The SPC should reflect the diversity and needs of your target audience. As a general guideline, we recommend including a representative from any group that makes up more than 10% of your expected participants.
Depending upon the type of accreditation you’re applying for, your SPC must include:
- Royal College accreditation: At least one specialist physician
- Mainpro+ certification: At least one active, practicing CFPC member (and at least two for nationally promoted conferences, faculty development programs or online asynchronous programs).
