The past year has changed the way we do many things, including how we undertake CPD programs. This fall and winter we are offering an expanded slate of the digital programs and conferences we have worked hard to develop since early 2020, but also the return to several in-person programs in a public health-compliant and safe manner.

The updates, programs and conferences offered this fall cover topics from designing and delivering effective CPD to addressing child health care inequities; and range from a narrative-based creative writing workshop to a conference exploring the future of retinal disease treatments.

Safer Opioid Prescribing

This webinar series ensures that physicians and health care providers are up to date on their opioid prescribing and chronic pain management skills. The Mudroom: Guided Creative Workshops for Health Professionals
Starts September 23, 2021 (online) – limited spots still available!
This creative and reflective writing workshop for health professionals is consists of monthly online meetings that provide a space to write, read, try out exercises in prose and verse, share work and give feedback. In between meetings, online sharing will allow for continued collaboration and connection. All are welcome! Learn more

Palliative Care eLearning Program

Supported by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, this program is designed to enhance family physicians’ knowledge and skills in palliative and end-of-life care, and to increase their involvement in local and regional palliative care initiatives. Learn more

This unique program provides fundamental theory and skill training for those looking to develop effective and successful continuing professional development activities. Practical issues commonly experienced in the design, development and implementation of continuing health education are explored throughout the 10-module series. Learn more

This 40-hour accredited certificate program will help boost your digital skill-set for teaching and learning. This program goes beyond the basics of education in an online environment, to effectively integrate online pedagogical design into successful teaching.

This certificate program specifically aims to build valuable leadership skills and teach the necessary tools to lead continuing education initiatives for health professionals in today’s complex health care environment. Updated content will focus on digital learning and online program delivery. Learn more

MyGOALS

The Multidisciplinary Gynecologic Oncology Annual Lecture Series returns with an update on various topics in the field of Gynecologic Oncology. This year’s themes include Precision therapy in Endometrial Cancer and Personalized Treatment in Ovarian Cancer. Learn more

Leukemia Update 2021

The Canadian Children, Youth and Communities (CCYC) Health In | Equity Conference

This inaugural, interdisciplinary conference is designed to bring together paediatric health and allied health care professionals to address health care inequities from birth to adolescence using a family-centred approach. Learn more

60th Annual Ophthalmology Update: Walter Wright Symposium
December 3-4, 2021, Toronto (in person)
This year’s program, Retina 20/20+1 will showcase developments in multimodal imaging, intravitreal medications, advanced surgical techniques, and new therapeutics in inherited retinal diseases. It will also provide a glimpse into the exciting future of retina, with a focus on novel pharmaceuticals and gene therapy. Learn more

7th Annual Canadian Burn Conference
